Writing is the Painting of the Voice  ~ Voltaire

As with our other arts courses, Creative Writing for Performance is based on cross-curricular themes. The goal is to have the students create an original piece of work, that is performed for an authentic audience.

Students are taken through the full writing process, from idea to performance while learning the theory behind the writing process and the skills to be a confident presenter.

In the past, Studio9 has collaborated with poets from the Inspired Word Cafe, local musicians, songwriters, and story writers; all who are keen to share their craft and help the students find their voice.

Having an authentic audience means venturing out into the community to perform our work.  We have hosted our own Free the Word (poetry & music night), been a guest on Shaw TV with Inspired Word Cafe, and performed at KGH for Nurses’ Week.
